Buddy Clark, a baritone radio singer, died at 37 in a plane crash on Beverly Boulevard.
In the months before his death in 1949, Clark had been embroiled in a child support fight with his first wife, singer Louise Hughes. Hughes alleged that Clark's earnings had risen from $700 a week at the time of their divorce to $100,000 a year.
Clark replied that he had earned only $58,397 before taxes and was supporting nine people.
His funeral service was held at Forest Lawn and attended by 300 mourners, including Frank Sinatra, who served as one of the pallbearers.
