Veteran character actor Jerome Cowan had a 53-year career that spanned more than 100 motion pictures and television films.
Cowan came to Hollywood in 1936, and his dark hair and thin mustache became a familiar trademark in a wide variety of character roles, including sleazy villain, comic and apoplectic businessman. He appeared in "Shall We Dance?" and in "Miracle on 34th Street."
His last work was in the television series "Alias Smith and Jones."
