Louise Glaum Harris played leading roles in silent movies and was frequently cast as a vamp. "The Tiger Lady" and Max Sennett comedies are among her film credits.

With the end of silent films, she continued her acting career on the New York stage and later became a drama instructor, opening and appearing in her own playhouse here in the late 1930s.

Former president of the Matinee Musical Club and past state president of the California Federation of Music Clubs, Harris, a widow, lived on Lafayette Park Place at the time of her death.
