Richard Denning

Born Ludwig A. Denninger on March 27, 1914 in Poughkeepsie, NY
Died Oct. 11, 1998 of emphysema in Palomar Medical Center, CA

Richard Denning was an actor who starred in such movies as "The Creature From the Black Lagoon" (1954) and "An Affair to Remember" (1957). He also played the governor of Hawaii in the television show "Hawaii Five-O."

Denning dabbled in acting for several years before landing a contract with Paramount Pictures in 1937 and a role that year in the film "Hold 'Em Navy."

Parts in dozens of mostly second-tier movies followed—along with roles in a few notable films, including "An Affair to Remember" and the cult favorite "Creature From the Black Lagoon."
