Adrian Franco, a 19-year-old Latino young man, was shot and killed in the back of an apartment building at 131 N. Alvarado Street in LAPD's Rampart Division at about 10:08 p.m. May 18. A suspect fled the scene on a bicycle. Franco died at the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call LAPD detectives at (213)207-2060.—Jill Leovy/LAT
