Two reader comments about Ahmid Kabba Jr.

West Plymouth Street in Inglewood is an inauspicious place to live or even visit. I once owned a house two blooks from this murder, the latest in quite a long series.

I remember people routinely pulling guns on each other over mundane problems like noisy neighbors and unruly children. Gang recruitment, drug sales, auto theft and prostitution were rampant. Adolescent boys apparently thought of prison as a kind of finishing school, the way their peers in most places might think of going to college.

Mr. Kabba's unfortunate demise is symptomatic of deeper, pervasive neighborhood dysfunction. It is not to the City of Inglewood's credit that this situation has continued some 20 years without significant intervention.
