Alan Steve Turcios, a 20-year-old Latino, was shot at 1018 E. 73rd St. in South-Central L.A. about 12:55 a.m. Saturday, March 1, in an incident that also left his father, Santos Joaquin Turcios, 42, dead. 

According to police, Santos and Alan were confronted by a man who pulled out a gun and began firing several shots. Both Santos and Alan were hit multiple times but managed to ask for help in the 7300 block of South Central Avenue. Paramedics pronounced Santos dead at the scene at about 1:12 a.m. Alan was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:27 a.m. The motive for the shooting is still unknown, police said.

The gunman was last seen driving southbound on Central Avenue from 73rd Street in a light blue four-door sedan with chrome rims. Anyone with information is asked to call homicide Dets. Linda Heitzman or Refugio Garza at (213) 485-1383.
