Albert Valdez, a 17-year-old Latino, was found shot to death Sunday, June 27, in the 1200 block of Sproul Street in Norwalk, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Valdez was brought to Coast Plaza Hospital in Norwalk by friends shortly after 10:30 p.m., said sheriff's homicide Sgt. Luis Nunez, who is handling the investigation.
He had been shot in the chest and was pronounced dead about half an hour later, according to coroner's records.
Nunez, citing the open investigation, declined to provide additional information about the case.
Anyone with information about Valdez's death is asked to contact Nunez at (323) 890-5500.
[Updated at 2:51 p.m. Aug. 17: Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with Valdez's death and are in custody pending murder charges, Nunez said.
Authorities are searching for a third alleged assailant, also a juvenile. Nunez said locating the boy has proved difficult because he is a runaway.
Investigators do not believe the shooting was gang-related.]

Albert was a quiet kid who never showed a frown on his face,nomatter if he was mad,sad,or happy he always had a smile on his face.He will be missed alot.!!!

it's pretty funny how the kids that took this kid into the hospital are getting charged with murder just because they were there. how stupied it that.

the kids that took him into the hospital were his friends and cared about this kid. And yet the cops are keeing these poor kids in jail. What a joke. And yet the real person is still out on the lose.

wow my little buddy albert is gone ='( imma miss him dearly i still remember when he would come to my house with freddy and well just play ball,, he would always juke my ass haha,, he was good at any sport.!! always with his bigg smile like no other well i guess this is see u later for one day we will see each other again u will always be missed our little Albert. always be missed.!!

my cousin albert was a good kid he always had a smile on him no matter what i rememberd the good times we spent together when we were little kids i am gonna miss you pops so saved a spot for the family up there okay R.I.P pops.

poor kid rest in peace, he was a happy kid and very kind always into sports and didn't deserve to die my condolences go out to his family, and I hope whoever did this has enough respect and dignity to turn himself in why would you end the life of a 17 year old little boy just because you're miserable, and if they don't catch him just know his guilty conciense will haunt him every day for the rest of his life, Rest In Peace Albert Valdez you will ALWAYS be missed;(

..if they were his FRIENDS they would've rushed him to the hospital instead they waited and tried to clean the evidence and came up with a story to tell the authorities that was false! So.. FRIENDS? .. Accident? Not at all. Most people who are behind bars, are there for a reason and should be!

the boys came up when he was already shot, and just wanted to help their friend. this whole situation is very sad all these boys are so young. May god be with his family especially his mother.

I remember playing little league with this guy... Always had a big smile on his face... ALWAYS. Just like he always was making people laugh. Hadn't seen him in a while. It just makes you think how the people of your past can just disappear. You WILL be missed Albert.

Cookie; you must be related or know they so called "innocent friends" maybe you should get all the details before you comment. If police see any reason to arrest they do so. REAL FRIENDS HELP THE ONES THEY CARE ABOUT, not let them suffer and cover it up by making up stories. Being that Albert is part of my family he will be missed and it is truly sad to know even your Best Friends can be your worst enemies.

well albert he always had a smile on his face no matter what and he was a good kid he had a very good heart too. i remember the good fun old times we had when we were little kids we would always be playing hide and seek,go to burger king, and the movies with grandma his two brother,his sister, and his other two cousin that was fun well i am gonna miss you very much primo but ill see you again one day so save a spot for me and the family up there okay, rest in peace pops your always gonna be miss by family and friends.

I knew Albert ever since we were kids I also knew his 2 brothers Eric n Eddy and they were all good kids we played little league together and I still can't believe it that he's gone I feel like it's all a dream and. Now that Im playing Minor League Ball out here in Utah I think to my self and say if Albert was still with us he would of gotten this far just like me and every time I go out to the field n pitch I go behind the mound n put an A and put up in the sky cuz he was a good friend of mine and he was always a good person
