Alcus Mallory, 15

Died July 22, 2008 at 12:00 p.m.

Alcus Mallory, 15, a black youth, was taken off life support and pronounced dead shortly after midnight Tuesday, July 22.  According to the Los Angeles Police Department,  Mallory was visiting his friend Elijah Larkin, an 18-year-old black man, in the 1600 block of West 65th Street in South-Central Los Angeles last Thursday. Police said Mallory and his friend were playing video games in the bedroom. Then, according to authorities, Larkin pulled out a handgun, played with it and fired one shot. Mallory was struck in the head. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he was placed on life support. Larkin was arrested the next day on suspicion of attempted murder.
