Aldwin Ezell , 24

Died July 3, 2010

Aldwin Ezell, a 24-year-old black man, died Saturday, July 3, two days after he was shot in the 1000 block of West Avenue I in Lancaster, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ezell was leaving the Bamboo Restaurant and walking to his car about 1:40 a.m., when an unknown person or persons walked up and shot him, said sheriff's homicide Detective Brandt House, who is handling the investigation.

Patrons alerted authorities of the shooting and Ezell was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital where he died two days later on July 3, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

Det. House said no one else was hurt during the shooting. He also said several suspects are under investigation in connection with Ezell's death.

Anyone with additional information about the incident is asked to contact Det. House at (323) 890-5500.

Six reader comments about Aldwin Ezell

Aldwin was my baby brother. He was a good person and had a lot of heart. He was sincerely loved. He was never one to play shot em up, he was more old school, he'd fight if he had to. It hurts my heart that not only was my brother murdered by his own race, he was STOLEN from his family by a COWARD! We all know how karma works, and I feel no pity for its wrath. I love you Nu-Nu (Aldwin)! Your big sister, She-She.

Aldwin, may you rest in peace. Denise I know how you feel. I to lost my baby brother to violence and COWARDS also stole my brother from his family. All I can say is time will heal all pain but we will never forget and they will forever stay in our hearts. May God be with you and your family.
