Alfred Beserra, 29

Died Aug. 8, 2010 at 2:59 a.m.

Alfred Beserra, a 29-year-old Latino, died Sunday, Aug. 8, in the 8500 block of Garvey Avenue in Rosemead, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

The incident occurred sometime before 10 a.m. Deputies said they arrived at the scene to find a compact car that had hit a wall and was in flames.

A man who had suffered a gunshot wound was standing outside the car.

A second man in the car's passenger seat, later identified by the coroner's office as Beserra, had also been shot. After deputies removed him from the car, he was declared dead at the scene.

According to coroner's records, Beserra suffered possible head trauma, an apparent gunshot wound to the back, as well as smoke inhalation and thermal burns.

Detectives later learned that before the wreck, a dark sports utility vehicle had been seen chasing the compact car.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the sheriff's homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500.

Freddie God be with you. Freddie was very proud to be El Monte Flores.

Emy, on the previous post, just confirmed that this guy was indeed a gang member, by giving out his gang's name!

Emy, so do you think Freddy is still proud of being part of a gang?

@ Emy By your comment, I can tell you did not know Freddie at all. Before you go out putting people on blast, get your facts right. Freddie was not a gang member. People, make your cruel and rude remarks, you will never change the man we lost. Since I have your attention, Thank you to the many El Monte business owners who donated funds to the family stating they just seen him and he always made them laugh. A sincere thank you to family and friends including EM homeboys & girls who dedicated their time to help at Freddie's car washes. Very sincere & caring man who others felt jealousy for. A father of two beautiful girls & a man who felt family was the most important thing. There is no valid proof that he was the shooter. No bullet hit his body nor did this handsome man get burnt. Although painful both these facts were a relief to hear. Respect Freddie. You don't know his life. May God keep you & your family safe. You never know when tragedy will strike. Joke may be on you.
