Died June 4, 2010 at 8:17 p.m.
Alvin Dexter, a 42-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, June 4, in the 1100 block of West 105th Street in Westmont, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Dexter was visiting a relative about 7:45 p.m. when he was shot while walking to the front gate, said sheriff's homicide Det. Richard Tomlin, who is handling the investigation.
Authorities were called and Dexter was taken to Harbor UCLA Medical Center where he died at 8:17 p.m., according to coroner's records.
Witnesses to the shooting said they saw two males running from the scene, Tomlin said.
Investigators do not have any additional details about the incident.

hr y is it that u post all types of judgemental comments and u pick and choose which ones u post to satisfy ur investigation this is like my space a police web site so they can know about the murders but do nothing about them.post some that has been solved,even if its acold case. none cuz they could care lee if we kill off each other.it never even make the news.they say this is life wer we live.any wer else kids 18 & under make the news if they r killed not us cuz its about 5 a week give r take. police knock it off we all kno its u that read,keep,accept & post on this blog.

this was a good dude,and solid.how is this allowed? i guess the hundreds has turned like the rest super scandalous.you lost your life at the hands of your own.where the love at?aint none.big black this shouldnt have happen.now days trust no 1,not even your own.they turnt up off these
