Andres Avila, a 26-year-old Latino, was fatally shot by Pomona police Sunday, Oct. 16, in the 900 block of West Holt Avenue in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
The shooting occurred about 8:40 a.m. when two Pomona officers encountered Avila and a woman in an alley. In a Los Angeles County sheriff's press release, authorities said, “The male became uncooperative and violent.”
At that point, an officer-involved shooting occurred. Avila was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Department is handling the death investigation.

Andy was a friend of mine that will be truly missed. He had a caring heart that he shared not only with his family but his friends. He had a smile that lit up the room when he walked in and our memories together will never be forgotten. May you Rest In Peace Andres Avila.

Andy one minute ur n my arms the next ur gone, the nite b4 this tragedy ur last words to me were ""u hold my heart n ur beautiful"" u knew how much u meant to me n yes i know Andy i know but i thank god we were able to spent one last moment 2gether . But overall we were able to keep a special friendship at the end ,Andres ur very welcome u were a pleasure to have around, that special hand shake has brought us luv,joy, happiness,laughters,lots of sleepless nites ,many tears we shared 2gether and wtf's lol u mean so much to me n i will miss ur tlc along with that big beautiful smile that always got u out of the dog house lol boy u were one of a kind n i mean one of a kind, im just glad i didnt driveaway. Andres Avila you were such a beautiful person, with a great heart, your big smile and your laughter was a very great thing to hear. The answer is when you have become violent enough that an officer has to pull out his gun!
Funny how no one else is commenting on his being shot by the police. Like they already knew he had a violent temper.

Andres was my cousin and even do we didn't see each other to often, he was still part of my family and he is going to be dearly miss.
And to the POLICE OFFICERS THAT KILL HIM IN COLD BLOOD. I hope that you guys PAY for what you guys did to Andres because he did not deserve what you guys did to him.
I want to ask to Abby Sewell from LA times who wrote this story in the web, to PLEASE keep checking on this story and writting more about whats going on with this investigation, because who guys have more ways of finding out the truth of what really happen.

Andy Avlia was a dear friend of mine. He was sweet, kind hearted, fun, and full of energy. All I ask is that justice is served for him. You are forever in our hearts ANDY....

All this seems to be really shady it's all over the news how on July 4the he had gotten arrested by Pomona PD and now killed by them after he had filed a civilian report with the videos his own family recorded with cellular devices of how he was treated and by looks he wasn't being uncooperative. I hope the investigation gets to bottom of point cause stories I heard was That officer shot him cold blooded and this guy wasn't armed.
My condolences go out to the family

Im so tired of the peanut gallery of young and older women ("the cougars") he may been sleeping with...saying their.."I love you sugar lumps"..and..."cya soon honey cakes"...and all that lovie dovie stuff. I mean...he was a man...of 26 years on this earth, and not one of his male friends can comment on what is going on? Atleast Mari pointed out what was going on....and Jag said it best......all these females on here expressing their love lust or whatever for the dead man...but its silence over over how the police killed him?...This is not right. How do you get killed for nothing?

I dident know Andy for that long, but the time that I knew him he always had a smile on his face.. I dont beleive what the police have to say about him. Cause for one Pomona Police is so full of s---t.. I hope his family does get justice for him and make the officers pay for what they did, cause no one has to go throw something like that.. It's so sad how police officers like to take advantage of who they are..
