Andres Vazquez Jr., 39

Andres Vazquez, 39, a Latino man, was shot and killed in the 13000 block of Gard Avenue in Norwalk shortly after midnight Saturday, July 19. According to Det. Angus Ferguson of the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau, Vazquez and his nephew belonged to a local gang. He said the two men were at a dope house and were spotted by rival gang members. Ferguson said Vazquez was fatally shot and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His nephew was wounded from gunfire and taken to a local hospital, where he recovered. A suspect has been identified in the shooting, but Ferguson said details about the suspect were not being released yet.
