Anthony Davis, 51

Died Sept. 24, 2011

Anthony Davis, a 51-year-old white man, was shot and killed Saturday, Sept. 24, in the 27900 block of Calypso Lane in Santa Clarita, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Lennie Paul Tracey, a 51-year-old white man, is charged with murdering Davis and assaulting the victim's wife with a shotgun.

A neighborhood feud between the men had recently escalated when Tracey installed infrared lights on his property and pointed them in the direction of Davis' home, authorities say.

Tracey allegedly shot Davis, 51, twice about 3 a.m. after the victim unplugged the lights, according to prosecutors.

After the shooting, Tracey allegedly pointed the gun at the victim’s wife. The two men had apparently argued in the past over the lighting system.

Tracey is being held in lieu of $1.1-million bail. If convicted as charged, Tracey faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Anyone with information about the killing is asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.

Syscom3, what are your thoughts about this incident? White people killing themselves over lighting.

Quite a rare event in Santa Clarita. This wouldn't be considered a violent street crime. More of a crime of passion.

Violent street crimes are the bane of civilized society. This type of crime is not preventable and it happens from time to time.

Jag, where would you rather live; in a neighborhood like this where a homicide comes every couple decades, if ever. Or the killing fields where homicides come on a daily basis.

I know one thing; the dumb ass will pay dearly for his stupid act.

Even at 51, still too young to have their lives destroyed over lighting issues. Some people just have no self control.

Yeah just about how much thought did it take to blow somebody's brains out over lights? Ridiculous!

Hey syscom3, have to point out your obvious contradiction. This type of crime WAS preventable.

— Had to mention ........ to clarify, street crimes are preventable. Crimes of passion are not.

My second statement should have been more clearly written.

Thanks for pointing that out!

— CALI .... there's a lack of white gang related homicides for me to comment on.

Sorry to disappoint you.
