Antonio Tavarez, a 25-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Nov. 1, in the 400 block of Edgewood Street in Inglewood, authorities said.
Tavarez and Claudia Marroquin, 23, were standing with a small group of people outside a home when shots were fired from a passing car, said Inglewood Police Sgt. Mike Bolliger. Tavarez was struck in the head, and the woman was hit in the chest.
Bolliger said the suspect or suspects fired randomly into the group.
Tavarez and Marroquin were taken to separate hospitals, where they died.
Bolliger said detectives believe the shooting was gang-related. He asked that anyone with information about the killings call the department’s homicide detectives at (310) 412-5246.

Funny I have never met someone with a nickname like "batman" that was not a gangest of some sort. Mayra, maybe you should be telling his friends to have some respect after all they are the ones that posted his "name" all over this website and not only that but just from reading this blog....most gang related shooting that happen don't usually involve the "wrong" person. They usually involve the right type of person who happens to have let his guard down. That's a big difference between and innocent and a idiot who forgot who he was/is.

Tony is resting in peace regardless of what you say SJP, and besides the fact that you're a moron, who the hell are you? Do you think that what you have to say means anything? Calling a person who is deceased an Idiot shows what a bastard you are and I guarantee that when your time comes you will regret for doing so. You could only wish to have a fraction of the Love Tony had from all his friends and Family. You could only wish that you had someone tell you they love you and actually mean it. Do you even have friends Syscom? I doubt that anyone would stick to scum like you and be a true friend, especially with all your negativity and bitterness. As a matter of fact I do have people in my life that tell me and show me that they love me. Who am I? I am the one that irritated you. I am the one that stands over people like you and it makes me feel superior...scarasim. I am the one that keeps people like you in your place. I am the one that gets to my nice area with green grass and drives ways and takes a deep breath because I made my way through your area...again sarcasim. i am also the one that didn't resort to name calling but them again I am probably dealing with a teenager and the first defense of someone so immature to come out fighting. Oh by the way there is no guarantee that Antonio is resting in peace or that he is in a better place. No matter how much better that makes you feel. We actually knew Tony so thats why we are here defending him, because we know what kinda person he was. You..why are you on here? Because you have nothing better to do obviously. Have respect for the dead, have respect for those of us who grieve. Do a little research to back up ur rants. Many many people who are shot are indeed INNOCENT victims. Who the heck are you to sit here and judge? Only God can judge us. I hope when you die someone has the common courtesy and God given sense to let your loved ones (if you have any) grieve in peace.

Pardon me for the spelling mistake. So exactly how many innocent people are killed randomly by gang members? You must have more then just because I said so on you side? Right? So give me a number. Because just looking back on this sight alone the innocent are very few and far between. The posting from his "friends" drip of gang ties. I have yet to meet a congressman or a lawyer or a dock worker with a nickname like batman. I think you are mad at the wrong person...be mad at his friends that posted his business all over the place for others to read. And then take a really good look at yourself in the process such hostility from you too? Judging people keeps people like me from being killed in a drive by shooting by someone like the people "batman" hung out with. Mayra, Josh, We all know what a great, wonderful, loving person Tony was. We all know he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Nothing this person says matters. We all know we give nicknames to people out of love or just to annoy them and then they stick. I know it was because of his batmobile, the car he drove, but this person is ignorant. I hope SJP isn't in law enforcement because the idea that someone must be a gang member because they have a nickname or because one person called them "dog" in one post--well, that's laughable. I was never in a gang but I had a girlfriend who called me "Bear." I guess SJP and syscom would have me incarcerated for that. And according to these guys, anyone who gets shot is a gang member too. Apparently Ronald Reagan was a gang member.
