Antwine Brown, a 36-year-old black man, died of a gunshot wound on Sunday, March 29, 2009, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office. The shooting occurred in the 2000 block of West Manchester Avenue in South Los Angeles.
Los Angeles police said Brown was talking to someone shortly before 4 a.m. when the conversation turned into an argument. At that point, the person drew a handgun and shot Brown multiple times, police said.
Brown was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The suspect ran from the scene and was still at large shortly after the shooting.
