Aric Lexing

Aric Lexing, 26, a black man, was killed in a double-homicide that also took the life of Scott Grant, 40, in the 4000 block of Stevely Drive in lower Baldwin Hills at about 3:30 a.m. Friday, July 20. Both men died were shot to death at the scene.

He was from Los Angeles, graduated from Hawthorne High, got a degree in Spanish at University of Monroe in Louisiana, and had just finished his master's degree in criminal justice in May, said LAPD Southwest Det. Sean Hansen.

Lexing's goal had been to work in law enforcement. Grant was an old friend from Lexing's childhood neighborhood. The two had a gone to a club together that night, and were just getting back.
