Art Gomez, 31

Died Nov. 30, 2011

Art Gomez, a 31-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Wednesday, Nov. 30, in the 2100 block of City View Avenue in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Gomez and Jesus Rendon, a 36-year-old Latino, were standing outside a house shortly after midnight when five unknown men walked up and began fighting with Gomez, according to an LAPD news release.

At that point, Gomez and Rendon were shot, officials said. Authorities were called and Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene. Rendon was taken to County USC Medical Center where he later died. Coroner's records show both men were shot several times.

Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related.

Anyone with information about the killings or the identities of the shooters is asked to contact Hollenbeck homicide Dets. Rios or Alfaro at (323) 342-4184. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (800) 222-8477.

MyDear, -S9- 'Art'
I thought of you with Love today
but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday.
and days before that too
I think of you in silence.
I often speak your name.
Now all I have is memories.
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is my keepsake.
With which we will Never part
God has you in his keeping.
I have you in my heart!.
As this it will stay, Until we meet again!!
Rest In Paradise,

Who took gomez to the hospital ? What was his involment in this ? Why did'nt detectives search gomez tahoe for weapons ? Why did gomez & rendon have someone hiding in the back of the truck ? Why was that person even there ? To be witness to the real agressors gomez & rendon... Mmmmm Smells fishy.
