Arturo Vasquez, a 49-year-old Latino, died when he was shot several times on Tuesday, April 21, in the 1300 block of Indiana Street in Commerce, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Vasquez was a homeless man, known by area truckers for taking care of stray dogs, according to a KTLA report on his death.
A trucker found his body lying in an alley about 1:30 in the morning. There are no suspects in the killing, officials said.
