Jo Ann Harris, 29, a black woman, died at 4:40 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 after being struck in the head with a baseball bat at 10808 Culver Blvd. in Culver City. After her death, an autopsy determined she was pregnant with a boy.
She was homeless, and her body was found in the California National Guard Armory. A suspect, Staff Sgt. Scott Ansman, 34, has been charged. Detectives called it a domestic homicide.
