Two reader comments about Brian Caufield
Brian Caufield was also known as DJ Spell.

He was a DJ in Hollywood and Colorado. He seems to have touched a lot of people as there are various memorials set up on the internet for him.
He was also apparently selling drugs out of his apartment. This home invasion seems to be directly linked to his other business as three men burst in and killed him for his drugs and money.
This murder has been featured on America's Most Wanted:

The surveillance system was able to capture the images of the three killers. I believe at least one has been caught but I'm not sure about the other two.

I just don't understand, such a horrific crime and for AMW not to air the pictures of the 2 outstanding suspects is a tradegy. My son was my life, he helped so many, he opened his home and heart to many in need, this was the way he was raised. Was Brian selling Marijuana? I don't know but what I do know is we have all made mistakes. Whether you have had a drink and driven, whether you have had a child out of wedlock, whether you have told a lie, we have all somthing in our pasts that we may not be proud of. What I do know is that I am the person I am today because of the compassion and love of my son. My beloved son stayed to help raise his younger sister as their father died in 1993 and I needed to travel to support my children. I never asked for a hand out, nor anyone to take pity on me. I had 2 wonderful children that I love and they loved me. We took many children in although living on a tight budget but nothing in this world has ever been more important than to ensure the safety and happiness of a child. My children's grandparents passed early and my son stayed much longer than many children and put his dreams on hold. No one seems to tell this story. I had just lost my Mother who died in my arms and coping was something I had to do. However to be faced with hearing your sons first cries coming into this world to hearing the fear and screaming out - Mom - Mom - Mom holding on to a phone in fear, not wanting to believe what I had heard and to later find out he had been killed I am pleading for someone to please help in my endeavor to bring justice to this horrific murder. It has been a year and a half and we are no where, no one seems to care, he is dead and I feel like I am going crazy. Living this nightmare over and over every day, hearing his screams for me and wondering what I could have done to save him. Mom, I think I'm being arrested, Mom..MOm..MOM. My son, you have my commitment, I will not let your legacy die, although the suspect in custody has Mr. Darden, you have my love and faith that there will be justice. Someone, please help in my search for Aikens and Sconiers and bring them to justice. AMR has posted this on line but refuses to run on the air, I don't understand the producers of this show, if this was your child, there wouldn't be a question, would there?
