Carlos Martinez, 18

Died Feb. 14, 2010 at 1:27 a.m.

Carlos Martinez, an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Feb. 14 in the 11700 block of Vanowen Street in North Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

In an LAPD press release, officials said that the incident began about 1:15 a.m. when two men got into a physical altercation with a third man. During the struggle the one of the men pulled a handgun, shot and killed Carlos Martinez of Pacoima.

Martinez was transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives said they are looking for two young men in connection with the shooting. They are described only as Latino males between 17 to 23 years of age.

Rest in peace my boy, regardless of what anyone says you didn't deserve this. You were a good person with a big heart and a warming smile. I miss you and promise to watch over your adorable son.
