Died March 31, 2010 at 6:16 p.m.

Carlos Venegas, a 21-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Wednesday, March 31, in the 1100 block of West 90th Street in Westmont, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Deputies from the Lennox station responded to a call of a gunshot victim about 6 p.m., according to a sheriff's news release. When they arrived, they found Venegas and another man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Venegas was pronounced dead at the scene, while the wounded man was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Witnesses described the assailants as Latinos driving a white sedan. They were last seen heading south on Vermont Avenue from 90th Street.

The shooting is believed to be gang-related, sheriff's officials said.

Anyone with information about the death of Carlos Venegas is asked to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

To grumpy:

Oh that's wonderful, so if someone is a child molester or rapist it's okay because they're family right? Only God can judge them? So everybody should "just shut up" about what they are right?

Actions speak louder than words. Being a gangmember means you engage in actions such as terrorizing people, robbing people, murder, etc. So I'm not gonna "just shut up" because there is nothing nice to say about someone who does those type of activities. Everybody is pointing out the truth, and although it may be easier to stay blind, everybody has to face reality at some point (=
