Carolina Ramirez, a 16-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Sunday, Feb. 26, in the 500 block of Bay View Avenue in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ramirez and Meldrick Melgoza, a 16-year-old Latino, were shot about 7 p.m. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
It wasn't known if their killings were gang-related, said Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Violent crime reports have jumped significantly recently in the Wilmington area, according to The Times’ crime profile of the area. There have been 53 homicides since 2007 within two miles of where the two teens were shot, according to The Times’ Homicide Report.

May this angel rest in peace for she was taken from her family and friends too soon............She is now resting at home up above where she is out of harms way, But it is ashame because she never got a chance to live her life the way she intended too.......THE VIOLENCE NEEDS TO STOP!!!!!!!!!!!! KIDS KILLIN KIDS OVER STUPID REASON WHAT IS OUR WORLD COMING TO WHEN YOU CANT EVEN TAKE A WALK OUTSIDE IN YOUR OWN CITY? SAVE A LIFE DONT TAKE ONE.......

It's total bullsh*t how cops arent doing a good enough job to find the killers of these 8 victims that were shot and killed in Wilmington. 8 victims have been shot and killed since jan, 01, 2012, the murders yet to be found. This is where LAPD comes in. LAPD is Not doing a good enough job finding these murders. In pinky's case, she was only 15 yrs old. How does someone have the nerve to kill a teen. My point is LAPD needs to step up there game.

After the police hire their new mindreaders they will be able to solve these cases. They need the mindreaders because no one in the neighborhoods will talk to them. So don't worry "Anonymous", help is on the way.

You know as well as i do why they don't say anything It's called snitching. The Code of the Sreet. So they are enableing these killers to remain out there killing more people, But yet they compain That nothing is being Done to solve these Murders.. why should the Police care when they don't,Till this changes. The killngs will keep happen.I just hope these people will open their eye and brain. & say this is wrong man we need to start talking

@ Absolutykrazy- Have you ever lost someone to violence, ever walk by a dead body, ever have bullet holes in your windows or call the police and request that they NOT come to your door and they come anyway to give you an update? have you ever had to move in the middle of the night because the killer just found out from his lawyer that you snitched?? If your answer to any of that is yes then you know what it is , if your answer is no then stopped judging things you don't understand..

If you guys look for a minute lmao just look the three people shot in east Wilmington 2 died that's east side wemas territory the report said Hispanics in a vehicle driving away it doesn't take much sense to know that east side wemas came and mistook these youngins for Westside wemas
