Celia Castro, an 84-year-old Latina, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, less than two weeks after she was assaulted in the 1300 block of West Avenue J in Lancaster, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Castro was possibly assaulted by her son Sept. 22 about 2:15 p.m.
After the incident, Castro was taken to Lancaster Healthcare Center, where she remained until her death Oct. 4 at 7:45 a.m.
Winter had no other information about the woman’s death.
