Cesar Pino Vazquez, a 65-year-old Latino, was found stabbed to death Tuesday, Nov. 9, in the 500 block of San Julian Street in downtown L.A., according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were passing by the Renato Apartments, a single-occupancy residence in downtown’s skid row, Tuesday morning when they were flagged down by a woman reporting a fight in an upstairs apartment.

The officers eventually found the apartment on the fourth floor of the building and discovered a bloody scene. Vazquez was pronounced dead at the apartment and another man was taken to the hospital.

Although the incident was alcohol-fueled, the killing appears to be a "justifiable homicide" because the surviving man may have been trying to defend himself, but the investigation is continuing, according to police investigators.

According to corner’s records, Vazquez suffered stab wounds to his head, torso, left arm and both legs.
