North Hollywood: Charlie Brown, 53, a white man, died this past weekend at a convalescent home almost exactly one year after he was struck on the head.
Brown was injured at 6065 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood on Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, between about 9:30 p.m. and 10:20 p.m.
He had been out walking his dog. Afterward, Brown was "in and out of consciousness, up and down," for months on end, said Det. Rich Wheeler of the LAPD's North Hollywood station. The assault case is now being investigated as a homicide.
