Charlie Howell, 47, a black man, was shot by drive-by shooters as he was leaving his girlfriend's house at 1901 West Reeve St. in Compton at about 2:16 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, said Sheriff's Det. David Castillo.
The suspects were four Latino men or youths in a four-door sedan. Howell, who was not documented as the member of any gang, died at Harbor-UCLA hospital.
