Chris Coronado, 53, a Latino man, was shot and killed on the street at 811 S. Lucerne in Park Mile in LAPD's Wilshire area at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. Both Coronado and his assailant were on foot. It's unclear what happened between them. No one was around but Coronado and his killer. He was found dead on the pavement by police.
Coronado lived in L.A. and was an employee of the Vons store on Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica—"a good guy," according to a manager there.
