Chris Perkins, 48, a black man, was shot in the chest arm and stomach behind a building at 2048 E. 101st Street in the Jordan Downs housing project late in the evening on Thursday, Oct. 18. He was taken to UCLA-Harbor hospital, where he died at 10:46 p.m.
