When officers arrived at the location, they found Chropening's roommate, identified as Ivan Fay, a 61-year-old white man, and took him to the Torrance Police Department Jail where he was booked on suspicion of murder, authorities said in a news release.

Chris was a wonderful man. He befriended all those to reached out to him. He gave me the best advise to never let anything stress you out. He said he would always be there for me and more important a great friend to my sons.
My deepest regret is that I never told him how much he meant to me and my sons.
Learn from this. Always tell someone you care before it's too late. Rest now my friend and thank you.
