Christopher Payne

Christopher Davon Payne, 24, a young black man, was shot to death near the intersection of 142nd Street and Eadall Avenue about 2:25 a.m. in South Los Angeles Saturday, July 5. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Payne was tossing a football with his brother when two men inside a truck pulled up. Then a man exited the truck and shot Payne, according to Homicide Det. Joe Sheehy of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.  The suspects then sped off in their truck. Anyone with information about the shooting can call Sheriff Dets. Sheehy or Charles at (323) 890-5500
