Courtney Adams, a 24-year-old black man, was shot several times on Wednesday, May 13, in the 6800 block of Atlantic Boulevard in Long Beach, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Police discovered Adams' body in a parking lot after someone reported an assault shortly before 10 p.m.
Adams, of Compton, had been shot in the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 27-year-old Compton man, whose name was not released, was shot in the leg. That man was taken to a hospital and authorities said he was expected to recover.
