Craig Cooper, 53

Craig Cooper, a 53-year-old black man, was killed in a drive-by shooting at 1926 W. Jefferson Blvd. in Jefferson Park about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12.

According to police, Cooper was walking on the sidewalk when a white vehicle heading east on Jefferson Boulevard pulled up next to him. Someone inside opened fire, striking Cooper several times. The car continued east, then headed north on St. Andrews Place.

Cooper was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:08 p.m.
