Cristian Madrigal, a 13-year-old Latino, was shot in the head and died Thursday, Aug. 13 in the 21400 block of Orrick Street in Carson, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.Officials said Cristian was killed after he and a friend found a gun locked in a closet. The pair had been playing video games before breaking into the closet. After finding the gun, it accidentally discharged, and Cristian was hit in the head, officials said.
The incident occurred about 2:45 p.m., and officials did not specify which youth was holding the weapon when it discharged.
