Daniel Ngyuen, a 28-year-old Asian man, was fatally shot during a murder-suicide Tuesday, Nov. 29, in the 800 block of North Coronado Street in Echo Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Police were called to a home about 3 p.m. regarding a death investigation. When they arrived, they found firefighters at the residence. There were two dead men inside.
The deceased were identified as Daniel Nguyen and his brother Christopher Nguyen, a 26-year-old Asian man.
Homicide detectives believe Christopher went into Daniel's room and shot him as he slept, then turned the gun on himself.
Christopher Nguyen was being treated for depression and had recently been in and out of the hospital for treatment, police say.
