I met Danny once through my older son at a restaurant. Very nice kid, respectful and full of life, they were coming from a shoe store. When my son told me about his death, it hurted because he was a very friendly person. all my nieces that knew him told me the same thing of how nice Danny was. I give my condolences to his family. It is so sad that young lives are taken away by criminals that don't value the life that GOD has given us.

I found out who Danny the day he was taken from this life. What I've gained in this past week is a whole lot of new little brothers and sisters who were around my neighborhood all along. They tell me Danny would have loved me and that truly gives me a good feeling.

Wheres the media at in this tragedy that hit the Mid City again. When it was Jamiel Shaw they talked about it in every channel. They made a big mess cause a latino gangster killed him. Monster, I miss you soooo much. This neighborhood doesn't feel the same with out you. I was sitting on my porch hoping you would pass by on your bike but I know that hoping and wishing for that to happen isn't going to bring you back. I won't every see that beautiful cheerful smile of your, only in my memories and in pictures. The night before you got shot you were here at my house with me. You said you were hungry so you were going to go buy tacos, like always, but if I would have known what was going to happen to you the next morning I would have never let you go. I never expected that to be our last conversation, our last laughs, our last goodbye. You were such a great kid, I don't know why this had to happen to you. I think every gang member should be tarred and feathered, no matter what color or race they come from. Fighting, dying, killing, or going to prison over a turf that you will never own is so foolish. I tell my daughter all the time, even associating with them can get you killed.

I think JS's case caught the media's eye because of the illegal immigration issue. Had his killer been an American citizen, it would have been swept under the carpet just like the other 99% of Los Angeles murders.

My best friend is a minister of the gospel, but wears a shaved head, and often puts his sunglasses behind head when he walks indoors, and he is hit up by both hispanic and black gang bangers. Its sad, but its reality.

We grew up together and share so many great memories together... We consider you like our lil brother. We always played outside, our walks from school, run around the block or our houses, ride our bikes, skates and getting in trouble sometimes with our parents... I laugh at the silly things you, your brother, my niece and I used to do...You were so good at everything you would do from skateboarding to biking etc... You always had a smile in your face a smile that will always be in my heart. It still hurts till today that your no longer here with us, but one thing I know is that your watching over us now. Danny we met you when you were a little guy always traveling all around the neighborhood on your scooter. My kids use to enjoy your company. We moved away from the neighborhood but our family would always remember you. My sons would often see you when they visit their cousins and just like everyone who had the blessing to know you I agree that you were a great example of brotherhood. You would always have a greeting and a smile for everyone no matter class, race nor age. My deepest condolences to your family and may you be full of joy with the Lord and angels above...RIP Little Danny

@west adams-i know everyone talks about how nice danny was and he was never gang related but reality is that he did used to claim gangs but he was never official .. he used to say he was eighteen streeter and thats what probly got him killed. The word probly spread about him beeing from 18st and thas wat probly got him killed for claimin a gang hes not from. i know this because i ran into people who said danny was claiming 18street at once. rip monsta gone but never forgoten

I knew Danny for a short amount of time, I miss him like many of his friends and it's sad to see that there is still no update in the case. What exactly did the cops do in trying to find out what happened? Did they find the person who committed the crime? Case closed? Case still under investigation? It would be nice to know that his family got some kind of closure to this tragedy.

I will continue to pray for his family and I know that Danny is resting in peace. He will be missed but never forgotten.

This is a perfect lesson for everyone out there who want to claim a gang that their not part of.

Claiming a gang or sitting in a car with a known gang member what's the difference, if your riding in a car with known gang members and rivals spot you they're going to light you up and that is what happen he got lid up for riding with a rival gang member it's not rocket science, if he had more common sense he would still be around.
