Died Aug. 23, 2008 at 7:26 p.m.
Dante Page, 41, a black man, was shot to death at 7:02 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, during an argument near 60th Street and Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach, authorities said.
Page had been involved in a dispute with the assailant, Long Beach Police Department officials said.
During the argument, the assailant walked up to Page and shot him, then fled in a vehicle, police said.
Page collapsed on the sidewalk between a drugstore and a barbershop. An employee at the barbershop said he was sweeping when he heard two gunshots.
The employee, who did not want to give his name, said he walked outside, saw Page lying on the ground and called 911. "The barbershop wishes love to the family," he said. "I know they're feeling sad right now."
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Long Beach homicide Dets. Russ Moss or Terri Hubert at (562) 570-7244.

This report is so inaccurate. Donte was shot in the barbershop. And for the shop employee to say that BS. Hell I put flowers and things out at the shop and they showed know respect. The flowers were mover over each day until they were put on the curb. I hate that place. Just pure evil.... I know they were covering something up. I miss you Donte. I true Bull rider Cowboy. You are so loved, and not forgotten. 8 second pumpin..

I used to go to Cedric's barbershop and I stopped back in the day cuz I knew that eventually someone would be murdered in there...The atmosphere inside of the place is gloomy and errie and the barbers themselves are shady characters...I seen enough to let me know that it wasnt the place for me....A lot of these barbershops are fronts for illegal activities and that's why I just pay someone to come to my home to cut my hair...Sad case and hopefully there will be some good that comes out of it...Like the killer being caught and that shady place being closed....
