Dante Willis, a 24-year-old black man, was shot and killed Thursday, April 29, at Exton and Hazel streets in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
A passerby found Willis with a gunshot wound to the head about 2 a.m., said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.
Willis was taken to Harbor UCLA Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 6 a.m., according to coroner's records.

I did not know this young man, but anytime we lose someone in such a violent nature my heart aches, to the family and other love ones of this young man, may God give you the strength and comfort you during your time of mourning RIP DANTE, you are with the heavenly father now....

was at work when me and my co-workers heard the gunshot
then we went on and break and seen that area roped off

its so sad that such a good spirite person had to go ! he was SUCH a great person & ALWAYS kept me laughing ! ill never forget theday he came to work with a chipped tooth telling me he ad been at a party & chipped it. funniest moment EVER! lol he was a very unique person & his spirit will continue to live on! we will all miss you & we love you DANTEEEE !

Dante waz a wondersful father and lover and best friend ....with many goals and wonderful future ....he was not gang related ....he waz a successful he attended U.E.I and accomplish his degree in dental assistant graduated one day before murder unfortunately his dreamz were wash away....so those that speak up on him saying he was gang related ..are ignorant......AND MUST NOT KNOW NOTHING ABOUT DANTE WHAT A GREAT PERSON HE WAZ........YOU WOULD ALWAYS BE MIZZ HUNNZ..I LOVE YOU ....AND YOUR KIDS LOVE YOU MORE

I am really going to miss you pooh and for the people that really didn't know you they truely missed out. I thank God everyday that he allowed you to be apart of my life, even if it was for a short time. I love you always. For the person that said he is guilty by association. He wasn't associated with any gang members. He was truely one of God's children.

4 the record 2 all those that claim they got the rite 2 accuse him of bin in a gang check urself, dante was my friend 4rm high school, he was the bestest homie I could of ever asked 4,in high school he was the live of the party, had no affiliation with no gang, and he kept it like that, dante I promise u this we all miss u man especially my sis marsha, and ur wonderful kids,ill always keep ur memory alive and in the kids hearts and minds as well, all I ask is that u watch over my sis and the kids and protect them and help my sis cope with the fact that u r gone, dante u stay up and don't party 2 hard up there in heaven good nite and farewell my friend

well to all u people out their dante willis was my brother my friend and i knew him better thnan anyone my brother wasnt a gang member we was a goffy out spoking person with 2 loving kids and 3 brothers that looked up to him so for all yall that are putting your lil messed up comments save them cause if u knew him you would think twice befor you judge someone that got shot in the back of the head for no reason at all

Dante Willis,A Son,A Friend,A Father,Dante was an amazing man .My name is Caroline Sanchez and I am his ex girlfriend ,we have a 1year old son together his name is Tristan Drake Willis,all the memories spent with this man is unforgettable and I thank god everyday for allowing me to have met this man.And knowing the man I use to be in love with the father of my child is now gone and there is no getting him back it is extremely heartbreaking and i am shocked,I love this man as a person and he was an amazing bright spirit that didnt deserve this.It kills me more that his Son tristan will never be able to share memories and get to know what a great person his father was.We love you Dante And I promise to always tell your son What a great person you were.Rip -love you Tristan and your old friend caroline sanchez,

its been said time heals the wounds ...that certainly haz not happen ...miss you dearly yogie ...i find everyday to be challenging ...thankfully your fam have been supported with or kids ..have been nothing than helpful I thank them for that ...your watching how strong of a mother I have been ..truth iz I miss you not having you anymore haz been hardest thing ....as you watching from heaven ive .made sure all your three kids are staying close ....i love you soook much ..dante ....lord knows that justice will be done ...i love you
