If we did not even have any ghettos we would not have so many killings....

Think about it,
these people $hit on a lot of people because the whole world does not give a $hit about them...

We should all be more equal as far as wealth is concerned....

TheTruth, you really think that if we gave people free money, they would act better?

This election day, why dont you vote in some politicians that will support a business climate that creates jobs instead of the same set of do nothing elected officials that only know how to chase jobs out of state or overseas.

syscom3 I don't think it is fair to say that because someone is asking for the elimination of ghettos that they are even thinking about giving someone free money. That would be pointless altogether. I think we should consider a statement from the book Political Econonmy of the Urban Ghetto by Fusfeld and Bates "Affluent America needs and benefits from urban racial ghettos. They provide a source of low-wage labor, and there is a steady drain of income and resources from the ghettos that benefits specific groups in affluent America." The Prison Industrial Complex is an example of one group or groups needing another group to remain dysfunctional and criminalized. Criminalization essentially removes one from the public sphere of competition and makes him a controlled object of the state and that is one of the goals and reasons for having ghettos.

Still to this day Its hard to think that he is dead, My son and darnell grew up together. I moved out california for that reason alone, The killings keep going on, I returned to see my mother who passed away. Standing in front of the old house i lived at 2186 28th, 5 doors up from were Darnell lived I was greeted by a red truck with three male latinos with a gun pointing at me, After that day I will never return too that area again. This should have never happen, No reason for it at all, He wasn't given a chance to grow into the man that I knew and saw he was going to be. We only get one chance at life and his was stolen away from him. God bless his soul and may he rest in peace and watch over his family.

MrWhitley, I suspect there is a concerted push by Latino's to rid many of these neighborhoods of black people.

But of course, the main stream media doesn't want to address this, as it does not conform to their rigid and simplistic view of race relations.

dondon3x, can we safely assume you are a gangster? Just why were they trying to shoot at you?

Syscom, you are so full of it. One cat who we DONT even know the complete background story (Mr. Whitley) and you wan to make generalizations about "a concerted push by Latino's to rid many of these neighborhoods of black people". Sukka please! 1000x more blacks kill one another than Mexicans killing blacks. Sure there are gang beefs and racial incidents but the MAJORITY of crimes committed against blacks is...wait for it...ANOTHER BLACK! Same thing with Latinos. Race on race killings is FAR greater than some racial fantasy youʻre spewing. So take that "Latinos trying to rid black people" bull and fly a kite. It goes both ways boy. You dont even know the suspects race. And considering this neighborhood is Harlem 30s hood and they have 2 big black gangs right next to them and beef with them, I highly doubt the suspect is Latino. Matter of fact, Im willing to bet another black person committed this crime. And since you like to question all other posts about the deceased, how come your not asking what this cat was doing out at 04:30? Buster...

Samdooby, the deceased is an adult, therefore can be outside his house any time of the day he desires. He could be going to work for all we know.

And the sad fact remains that there have been some homicides that had obvious racial (Black vs Latino)aspect to it.

If you have been reading the homicide blog long enough, and taken some CJ101 classes at your local college, then you to will see some data and come to the same conclusions I did. Even the times has carried a few stories about this subject.

As for the stats about black vs black, and latino vs latino, I know them quite well.

Man LA seems like a tough place to live. Have all of the normal people moved out of LA already?

This is very scary considering the fact that i knew him && the fact that he was killed 4 homes down from mine. I pray for the justice to served && for them to catch his killers, and just the people who have killed anyone man.
