David Crosby, a 39-year-old black man, was shot several times and killed on Friday, May 29, in the 160 block of North Sierra Madre Boulevard in Pasadena, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Crosby, of Lancaster, was sitting on the patio of a restaurant with family members watching a Lakers game, according to KTLA. An 18- to 20-year-old man approached Crosby at the restaurant about 6:30 p.m. and shot him. Crosby died at the scene, according to Pasadena police.

David Crosby was at the Atlantis restaurant after attending a funeral. It was for Darryl Stephens, an ex-football player who allegedly committed suicide. Stephens was considered a suspect in a murder in San Bernardino. Here's a link with more info:

Why suspect Dwayne Rice charged into a crowded restaurant to kill Crosby is unknown. There was talk about it being gang related but there wasn't a lot of information shared about Crosby's potential gang affiliation. Needless to say, the suspect wanted him dead and didn't care who saw him do it.
