David De Anda Jr., 31

Died Dec. 24, 2010

David De Anda Jr., a 31-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Friday, Dec. 24, in the 13200 block of Francisquito Avenue in Baldwin Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

De Anda and two other people were standing in a driveway at 12:46 a.m. when a man approached and shot De Anda several times in the upper torso, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.

The victim was taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he died about two hours later, said sheriff's homicide Det. R. Lopez, who is handling the case.

After the shooting, the assailant ran south on Francisquito Avenue and entered the passenger side of a dark-colored Honda, officials said.

Witnesses described the shooter as a Latino, approximately 30 years old with a tall and thin build, wearing a grey sweater and dark jeans.

Investigators believe the shooting might be gang-related.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the shooter is asked to contact Det. Lopez at (323) 890-5500. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.

— Lala; its too bad that he came out of prison as a reformed man. But as is so often with the gangs and prison life; you cannot run away from your past.
