Died Dec. 1, 2010

Delbert Moore, a 20-year-old black man, was fatally shot Wednesday, Dec. 1, in the 6800 block of Hannon Street in Bell Gardens, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Moore was shot several times at 5:03 p.m., said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office. After the shooting, he was taken to a hospital, where he died 35 minutes later.

The coroner's office had no additional information about the case.

It's sad when any young person is taken from this world, but when a person as great as Delbert is taken it leaves a gap greater than anything imaginable. There will NEVER be another human being as great as him. He never wanted to hurt anybody so I don't know why anybody wanted to hurt him.

I met him one time a few weeks before he died. He made a positive impact in those few moments with his kind smile and openness. He did not deserve any harm and is another casualty of this pathetic attempt at manhood and dominence, called gangs. This affected a lot of people, not just his family, but his friends, who are also heartbroken and will feel the loss forever. Why?
