Dirk Jackson, a 26-year-old black man, died from several gunshot wounds on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in the 200 block of South Burris Avenue in Compton, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Officials said a black woman was also injured in the incident, but she was taken to a local hospital and survived her injuries.
