Douglas Bland, 26

Died Jan. 4, 2011 at 2:10 p.m.

Douglas Bland, a 26-year-old black man, was fatally shot Tuesday, Jan. 4, near 109th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Authorities received a call regarding a shooting victim about 1:45 p.m., according to an Inglewood Police Department news release.

When officers arrived, they found Bland lying on the sidewalk with several gunshot wounds to the torso. Paramedics were called, and he was taken to a hospital, where he died at 2:10 p.m., coroner's records show.

According to witness statements, they heard Bland having an argument followed by gunshots. A group of black men were seen running west on Crenshaw after the shooting.

Investigators said the shooting appears to be gang-related.

If anyone out there has any information, please, please assist the police with this case. My family deserves closure to this and as long as the individuals responsible for taking my cousins life are allowed to walk freely, they will not have closure. Please imagine if this was your son/brother/father/husband/relative/friend, you would want someone to come forward and speak up.
