Six reader comments about Edwin John Jr.

Edwin was a good kid he kept to himself. He didn't bother anybody. He always kept a smile on his face and a positive attitude. Im really gonna miss this angel. We as a people need to stop killin our future Doctors, nurses, lawyers, and etc who gonna save you in your time of need if we keep killing each other over a color. This has sorrowed my heart deeply!

I saw on the news about the murder of this decent young man. It is always sad when an 18 year kid is gunned down in the streets for nothing. I guess these kids can't even leave there homes anymore in some of these neighborhoods. When will it end, probably never.

My prayers go out to this youg man's family. I am very confused on how the media did not report the story enough. No reward has been offered nor a press conference. Jan Perry & Mayor Villaraigosa where are you nothing said or done. We are losing a lot of our children to GANG VIOLENCE. If this was Beverly Hills I am sure more would have been done & said. South Central is also a tax paying city as well. This is someone's child that is truly grieving.

I'm sorry but these kids are animals and this has been going on since the 70's. The reason why is the CROOKED COPS allow it to happen.

— Mike, you mean "feral children".

Why blame the cops? Put the blame for where it truly lays. The parents and the gang culture they thrive in.
