Edwin Orozco, 17, a Latino youth, was shot in the 1032 block of North Ardmore Avenue in Hollywood at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, July 31. He was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where he died about 1:30 p.m.
LAPD Det. Wendi Berndt said investigators believed a Latino man came up on foot, argued with the victim, then pulled out a gun and shot him. The suspect escaped on foot. The killing occurred in broad daylight with people nearby in the street. The suspect is 24 to 26 years old, 5-foot-8, 160 to 170 pounds, with short black hair and a dark complexion.
