Emanuel Nieblas, a 29-year-old Latino, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, a day after he was shot in the 1000 block of Rowan Avenue in East Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Nieblas was standing outside a residence about 9 p.m. the day before when he was approached by an unknown assailant and shot, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.
Authorities were called, and Nieblas was taken to County USC hospital where he died the next day at 9:49 p.m., Winter said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

Its been almost 5 months since u were taken from us.
I wish Heaven had a phone so I could hear your voice again.. I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake from which I'll never part..... Dam its almost been 1 yr & it HURTS just as much as it did the day i found out u were gone....u would be so PROUD of OUR DAUGHTER ~Leticia NIEBLAS~....i visit ur gravesite OFTEN but its still not enuff...Wish EVERYDAY u were still HERE with us...especially 4 Letty!

Had a dream about u the other night...u came back 2 us....u were gone all this time cuz u were in prison..IF only this were true...no words can ever express how much we miss u...even though we weren't 2gether for yrs b4 u left this earth...but we had that special bond of having our first child 2gether... u were taken from us much too soon....Wishing u a Merry Christmas up above <3 4ever in our hearts!

crazy it's already almost 2 years that u been gone i ran into deserie the other day and seen your boys they look so much look u especially Jr he looks just look u they even have your attitude. she's doing a great job with them. u would be so proud. i know your looking down at them with a smile. that's a trip i didn't even know u had a daughter. until we met on the other side rest in peace homie.
