Ernest Salazar, a 48-year-old Latino, was beaten and died on August 9. Salazar died from blunt-force trauma suffered in the 9300 block of Beverly Road in Pico Rivera, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.
The Pasadena Star News reported that the killing happened about 3:30 a.m. in an alley, but few other details were immediately available. Salazar's sister, Mary Salazar, told the Star News that she thought he was walking home from a bar at the time.— Anthony Pesce
